Artistic Statement
Bettina documents impressions, observations, and themes through images. At the heart of her work is the creative transformation of what already exists. By dissolving symmetries and developing new proportions, she creates works that follow their own internal logic and open up new forms and possibilities of expression. Photography and digital image editing serve as her primary creative tools. The finished works are transferred onto a variety of materials – metal, canvas, paper, fabric, or Plexiglas – each lending the motif its own spatial and material presence.
About
Bettina's varied professional background includes training in design technology in Sweden, interior design in England, and work as a kindergarten teacher in Switzerland. Her first artistic work was created in 2005 at sea between Brazil and Cape Town, during her time working as a ship's carpenter – a defining moment that marked the beginning of her artistic journey.
