Artistic Statement
Arian works across different media that influence and complement one another. In painting, she creates pictorial spaces and narratives, while her textile works explore themes of body, care, and memory. In ceramics, forms and thoughts become physical and tangible. A new painting often begins with a visual idea drawn from her own imagination or from art-historical references. As the process unfolds, she increasingly releases herself from this starting point, following the associations evoked by colour and form. Free from fixed painting conventions, she trusts her intuition and creates works that are at once immediate and layered.
About
As a self-taught artist with a background in graphic design from ZHdK and further training in art therapy, Arian develops her work intuitively and through process. Her pieces grow from observations, memories, and direct dialogue with the material.
