Artistic Statement
In her surrealist works, the artist weaves together memory, dream, and symbolism into layered narratives about inner worlds. Inspired by her Portuguese roots and personal experiences, recurring motifs appear – tiles, lace, crocheted blankets, and animals – each symbolising emotions and inner states. Through the use of textures and textiles, some inherited from her family and others painted by hand, she creates works that fuse the familiar with the surreal. Between reality and imagination, her art opens space for individual associations and personal interpretations.
About
Inês studied Textile Design, having previously attended the Liceo Artistico. Since childhood, she has been devoted to creative work and painting – a passion that has accompanied her throughout her life and continues to shape her artistic practice. Over the course of her career, she also designed luxury textiles for haute couture, deepening her expertise in working with high-quality materials, textures, and surfaces. These experiences, along with her enthusiasm for diverse materials, flow directly into her work and lend it a distinctive character.
