Artistic Statement
For over twenty years, Karin Schiffmann has been creating a visual world. Her starting point is painting. Within it, poetic pictorial spaces emerge between the visible and the invisible. With her new objects, this visual world steps into three-dimensional space. From plaster, wire, and precious textiles, owls are born — messengers between worlds. At this exhibition, she presents a speaking oracle owl that unites object art and artificial intelligence. Its foundation is an archive of artistic, philosophical, and personal texts, cultivated over many years. The owl thus becomes an artistic resonance chamber. It opens encounters between people, artwork, and technology. And it connects ancient knowledge with the present.
About
Karin Schiffmann lives and works in Zurich. Painting forms the foundation of her practice, deepened through studies including the master class of Prof. Leiko Ikemura. Today her work encompasses painting, objects, and installations. Artificial intelligence extends her creative process. With the oracle owl, she asks: What happens when art begins to speak?
